How We Work Together!

These terms protect us both. Read them. Ask questions. Then we start. Simple and fair.

Terms and Conditions

Effective from: 15th April 2026

These terms and conditions apply to all therapy services provided by Talk to Me – CBT. By booking a session, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. Ask me anything that is unclear. I am happy to explain.

Nature of Services

I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy online. Sessions are conducted via video or telephone. I support adults aged 17 and over. I work with anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias, low self esteem, and related difficulties.

Therapy is not emergency support. If you are in crisis, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or go to A&E. For immediate danger, call 999.

Booking and Payment

Sessions must be booked in advance. Payment is due before each session. I accept bank transfer. Details will be provided upon booking.

Bundle bookings require full payment upfront. Bundles are non-refundable once started. Unused sessions within a bundle may be transferred in exceptional circumstances. This is at my discretion.

Prices are reviewed annually. You will be notified of any changes with at least 30 days notice.

Cancellation Policy

You must give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be charged in full and cannot be refunded. This applies to all session types including assessments, treatment sessions, and bundle bookings.

If I need to cancel, I will give you as much notice as possible. I will offer an alternative time. No charge will apply to the cancelled session.

Emergencies are rare but happen. I will consider genuine emergencies on a case by case basis. Please communicate with me as soon as you can.

Late Arrival

If you are late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. I cannot extend into the next client’s slot. No refund or partial refund is given for late arrival.

If I am late, I will extend the session or offer a partial refund. This depends on what works best for you.

Confidentiality

Everything you share is treated as confidential. Typical limitations to confidentiality

include:

  • Prevention of serious physical harm to clients or others.
  • Any legal requirements to breach confidentiality, including court orders and statutory obligations.
  • Any disclosures required to enhance the quality of service offered by the therapist, e.g. obtaining professional supervision and support or sharing information with colleagues within a team setting.
  • There are high levels of significance attached to the privacy and confidentiality concerning personal information in counselling, psychotherapy and psychology. The circumstances that could justify a breach in confidentiality require that there should be a real risk of serious harm, the threat appears imminent, and the disclosure is likely to be effective in limiting or preventing the harm occurring’. (Bond and Mitchells, 2008).

I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss. My total liability is limited to the fees you have paid for sessions.

Termination of Therapy

Either of us can end therapy at any time. I would appreciate reasonable notice. You can simply tell me you wish to stop. No hard feelings.

I may terminate therapy if:

  • You breach these terms repeatedly
  • I believe I cannot help you effectively
  • Your needs fall outside my competence
  • There is risk to either of us

If I terminate, I will offer up to two sessions to support transition to another service.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled within UK jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms occasionally. You will be notified of significant changes. Continued work with me after changes means you accept the new terms.
