Cancellations, Refunds, and How Notice Works

You get 48 hours to cancel. Less than that? No refund. Simple and fair for both.

Refund Policy

Effective from: 15th April 2026

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work at Talk to Me – CBT. I keep things simple. You get clear notice periods. I get to run my business fairly. Please read this before booking your first session.

Standard Cancellation Notice

You must give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule any session. This applies to:

  • 90 minute initial assessments
  • 60 minute treatment sessions
  • Any session within a bundle booking

Notice is counted in hours, not days. A session booked for Monday at 2pm needs cancellation by Saturday at 2pm. Weekends and bank holidays count the same as weekdays.

Late Cancellations

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be charged in full. No refund is given. No credit is offered toward a future session.

This rule exists because I hold that time for you. I cannot fill it at short notice. Fairness means you pay for time you booked.

I recommend following up any voicemail or text with an email. That creates a clear record. I will confirm receipt of your cancellation. Keep that confirmation for your records.

Rescheduling vs Cancelling

Rescheduling counts as a cancellation under this policy. If you need a different time, the 48 hour rule still applies.

You can reschedule without charge if you give 48 hours notice. A new time will be offered based on my availability.

Rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice will be charged as a late cancellation. You would then need to book and pay for a new session separately.

Bundle Bookings

Bundle bookings follow the same 48 hour cancellation rule. Each session within a bundle is treated individually.

If you cancel a session late, that session is lost. It cannot be replaced or carried over. The bundle price does not change. You simply have one fewer session remaining.

Unused bundle sessions that are cancelled with proper notice remain available. You can reschedule them within the agreed bundle timeframe.

My Cancellations

I rarely cancel. But sometimes life happens. If I need to cancel, I will give you as much notice as possible.

If I cancel:

  • You pay nothing for that session
  • I will offer alternative times
  • You can request a full refund for that session if preferred

For bundle clients, a cancelled session does not count toward your bundle total. Your bundle remains intact.

Late Arrival Policy

If you arrive late, the session still ends at the scheduled time. No partial refund is given for lost time.

If I arrive late, I will extend the session or offer a partial refund. You choose what works better for you.

Exceptions for Emergencies

True emergencies happen. Sudden illness. Accident. Family crisis. I will consider these on a case by case basis.

To request an exception:

  • Contact me as soon as possible
  • Explain the situation honestly
  • Provide evidence if appropriate (like a medical note)

Exceptions are not guaranteed. But I am human. I will be fair. Repeated late cancellations will not receive exceptions.

No Show Policy

If you do not attend your session and give no notice, you are charged in full. No refund. No reschedule.

After two no shows without communication, I may terminate therapy. Future bookings will require upfront payment before any session.

Refunds for Dissatisfaction

If you are unhappy with a session, please tell me. Most issues can be resolved by talking.

Refunds are not given simply because you did not like therapy. However, if I believe I provided poor service, I will offer a partial or full refund at my discretion.

You can stop therapy at any time. Prepaid bundles beyond the notice period are not refundable once started.

Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have rights. Therapy services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.

If I breach this, you may be entitled to a refund. This is assessed on a case by case basis. I follow UK law fully.

How to Request a Refund?

Include:

  • Your full name
  • Date of the session in question
  • Reason for the refund request

I will respond within 5 working days. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
